We designed and created this website because we, as Native American Studies majors believe that it is fundamental for teachers to incorporate First Nations, Mètis, and Inuit perspectives into daily teaching. These perspectives can easily be incorporated into all subject areas. By incorporating these perspectives, it will bring authentic and engaging learning into the classroom. It is important to note that there is a difference between attending to a FNMI outcome, and integrating one.
The following website offers an insight, and will provide significant amounts of resources, that will help teachers incorporate First Nations, Mètis, and Inuit perspectives. Since there will be new changes to the Teaching Quality Standard, with regards to incorporating First Nations, Mètis, and Inuit perspectives, it is important that teachers have access to reliable resources. Throughout this website, you will be able to find resources such as: a unit plan, lesson plans, books, websites, and activities that are intended to incorporate First Nations, Mètis, and Inuit perspectives.
